TRAC7 Automated Inventory Management

Maintaining accurate yard inventory is critical to efficient workflow and profitability in terminals and container yards. Prime7’s Mobile Inventory System interfaces with the existing terminal operating software (TOS) to provide fast, accurate and reliable yard checks.

The system consists of RFID readers mounted on a yard truck, the TRAC7 mobile computing system, and backend software. We begin by generating a highly accurate yard map complete with GPS coordinates. While driving the yard at speeds up to 10 mph, our mobile system reads the RFID tagged assets, records the GPS location and time during the run.

Once complete, the data is uploaded to the backend, positions each asset within the slots, compares and reports any exceptions between physical inventory and the TOS assignments. Under set business rules, exceptions can be automatically updated in the TOS or a message can be sent to the yard manager to confirm discrepancies and make the adjustments.

Prime7 increases efficiencies by lowering turn time for truckers, accurately confirming asset locations, and reducing labor assigned to managing inventory.
